No. 1 Mount Union comes to Wilmington College Saturday afternoon to face the Quakers in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest at Williams Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. on the Townsend Field turf.

The Purple Raiders will be seeking their 100th consecutive regular season win Saturday, dating back to a loss in the 2005 season.

Mount Union is in a familiar place in the OAC standings — first place. The Purple Raiders are 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

At the opposite end, the Quakers also are in a familiar place at 0-5 in league play and 1-5 overall.

The Purple Raiders offensive line (and its backups) blocked for three 100-plus yard rushers, including quarterback Taurice Scott, in a 52-7 win vs. Ohio Northern last week. Mount Union rushed for 415 yards. UMU finished with 610 total yards.

This is the 18th meeting between the two schools with Mount Union holding a 17-0 advantage.

Last year, the Purple Raiders scored 42 points in the first quarter en route to a 74-7 win.

The last time Wilmington hosted Mount Union was in 2012, a 66-0 Quakers loss.

WC lost to Baldwin Wallace 21-14 last week.

Wilmington has lost five straight games since beating Bluffton in the opener. The Quakers are eighth in the OAC in both total defense (447 yard per game) and total offense (317 yards per game).

WC senior defensive back Amari Bryant is tied for the conference lead with two interceptions. Senior defensive back Tarrell Starckey is fifth in the conference in tackles. Wilmington High School product and WC junior defensive lineman David Henry has five sacks.

WC sophomore quarterback Luke Creditt was injured after completing five of his first six passes last week at Baldwin Wallace.

Senior receiver Justin Lee is the top Quaker pass catcher with 35 catches for 439 yards and three TDs while junior Chase Manica is the top running back with 52 carries for 258 yards and a score.
