WILMINGTON — “Sweet Home Alabama” will be right at home on Sugartree Street this Friday night in a concert that’ll be “Free (as a) Bird” starting at 7 p.m.

Turn It Up: The Lynyrd Skynyrd Experience continues the free Friday concerts as again Sugartree Street will be shut down but the local businesses and the music turned up as you enjoy beverages and bites from the Tin Cap and The Escape and more. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the evening in downtown Wilmington.

Named for the famous opening utterance in “Sweet Home Alabama,” Turn It Up pays tribute to the legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd and is “dedicated to the authentic sound that was instrumental in bringing southern rock to the masses. Turn It Up will take you on a memorable southern-rock journey performing all your favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd hits! Musically, they are probably the best Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band out there.

Clinton County CVB Executive Director Susan Valentine-Scott said she and Executive Assistant Melissa Hedrick have seen Turn It Up twice and, “They are awesome. If you’re a Skynyrd fan, you will love these guys. They‘re high-energy, fun and talented.”
