Blan man charged with abduction

A Blanchester man, Stanley Conley, 33, was arrested Monday night and charged with third-degree felony abduction for an alleged incident that occurred Monday morning.

According to Blanchester Police Chief Scott Reinbolt, police were summoned to a home on East Main Street that morning where a woman reported she had been abducted during the overnight hours. She stated she was held against her will at knife point at a home on the east side of Blanchester, according to police. She was not able to describe the home and could not provide the name of her assailant, but described him as having “horns” tattooed on each side of his shaved head.

Additional Blanchester officers were called into work and an investigation was opened, Reinbolt said. Ptl. Greg McAllister recalled stopping a man with horns tattooed on the sides of his head several days earlier.

Conley was arrested by Blanchester police officers without incident at his home late Monday night, Reinbolt said.

Assistant Clinton County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew McCoy was briefed on the case via telephone and approved the filing of a charge of Abduction, a third-degree felony. Reinbolt said Conley has a lengthy criminal record. Conley was held in the Clinton County jail in lieu of the posting of bond.

On Tuesday afternoon Blanchester police officers and an agent from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation executed a search warrant at Conley’s residence on East Center Street, where additional evidence was gathered, Reinbolt stated.
