’Cane, Indians tie 3-3

HILLSBORO — Unable to hold a 2-0 lead, the Wilmington High School boys soccer team tied with Hillsboro 3-3 Thursday in South Central Ohio League action.

Wilmington led 2-0 at halftime but “missed opportunities early in the game kept Hillsboro in it,” WHS coach Imad El-Macharrafie said.

The Indians tied the match at 2-2 and took the lead 3-2 before Wilmington scored with two minutes remaining.

Wilmington is 1-0-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the SCOL.

Charlie Schumacher, Pablo Russo and Wyatt Kessler scored goals for the Hurricane while Sam Spirk registered two assists.
