Girls open season at Finishtiming.com XC Classic

The cross country season opened for Wilmington High School, Clinton-Massie High School and East Clinton High School Saturday at the Finishtiming.com XC Classic at Wilmington College.

Wilmington was 17th in the team standings while East Clinton and Clinton-Massie did not have complete teams.

The top local runner was Katie Hughes of CM, who placed 46th in 22:05.6.

“This was a good test to see what kind of shape we are in at this point of the season,” said CM coach Dean Richardson.

Wilmington’s top runner was Tristan Vail who clocked a 23:49.2. EC’s first runner was Alex Hughes, who finished in 28:26.7.
