WEST JEFFERSON — Wilmington’s Jack Murphy was match medalist and the Clinton-Massie Middle School boys golf team played a closely-contest four-team match Thursday here at the National Road Golf Course.

Murphy shot a 44 to lead all golfers, but the Rodger O. Borror squad did not have a complete team.

In the team standings, London had 196, Madison-Plains 203, Marysville 207 and Clinton-Massie 211.

Jackson Schultz was the top Falcon golfer with a 48.

Carsyn Creager had a 54, Sam Glass 54, Ryan Pettijohn 55, Kaleb Hughes 62, Kolton Smith 63 and Clay Carroll 70.

“The course had very small, hard greens which our players could not figure out,” CM coach Phil Larrick said.
