DEBRA ‘DEBBIE’ MAE THOMPSON

Debra “Debbie” Mae Thompson, 62, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015 at her residence.

She was born July 18, 1953 in Wilmington, daughter of the late Ford Hilliard Dunn and Lela Marie Denney Dunn.

Debbie retired in 2008 from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department after 31 years of service. While with the sheriff’s department she had been the Chief Dispatcher, was a deputy sheriff, and had served as the Ohio LEADS TAC Coordinator.

She was a graduate of Clinton-Massie High School Class of 1971 and was an avid bowler at Royal Z Lanes in Wilmington. She had also worked part-time for Hunter North Security of P.C. Connection.

Surviving are daughter, Cathryn R. P. Thompson of Athens, Ohio; sister, Brenda Lee of Savannah, Georgia; four step-children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie Deatherage and Howard Deatherage; and a sister, Joanne Combs.

Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Friday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dan Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery.

Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, Friday 10 a.m.-noon.
