EC freshmen, reserves split with WCH

The East Clinton reserve and freshman volleyball teams split matches Tuesday with Washington Senior.

The reserve squad was defeated 25-20, 18-25, 22-25.

“We had some problems with service errors and hitting errors that set us back but overall the girls didn’t give up or get down on themselves,” said coach Hannah Wilson.

Carrie Pickering had two digs. Sydney Landrum had three aces, four points, four kills and 12 digs. Victoria Johnson had four kills, a block and a dig. Logan Peterman had 20 assists, a kill and eight digs. Miranda Beener had an ace and six kills.

Mariah Dunn had two points and Lacey Peterman had a kill. Megan Stewart had five aces, 10 points, three kills, a block and a dig. Taylor Boeckman had an ace and 13 digs. Kaitlyn Talbott had four aces, six kills, a block and four digs.

The Lady Astros freshmen were victorious 25-22, 25-20.

Emily Tong had a great game as setter, Wilson said, while Talbott’s serving and hitting (for freshmen and reserve) really the helped the team stay up, Wilson added.
