Congressman sets local office hours

U.S. Rep. Steve Stivers (R–OH) will be hosting office hours for constituents in Clinton County to listen to concerns, answer questions, and discuss any issues regarding the federal government.

The office hours will be Monday, Sept. 14 from 10-11:30 a.m. at his Wilmington District Office at 69 N. South St., Wilmington.

Story times underway at library

Story times resume this week at the Wilmington Public Library — join children’s librarians Priscilla Clark and Rebecca Beatty (who is new to Wilmington) for a fun time at the library every week.

Library story times and reading with your children can make a critical difference in your child’s success in school.There is no registration required. The story time schedule is:

Main Library: Toddlers (18 months-2 years), Wednesdays at 10 a.m.; Pre-K (3-5 years), Wednesdays at 11 a.m.; Babytime (0-18 months), Thursdays at 10 a.m.; All ages, Thursdays at 11 a.m.

Clinton Massie Branch: All ages, Tuesdays at 11 a.m.

Meet, ask questions of superintendents

Community Conversations: Meet the Superintendents will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Wilmington Public Library. Meet and ask questions of school superintendents: Ron Sexton, Wilmington City Schools; David Baits, Clinton-Massie Local Schools; and Tony Long, Southern Ohio Educational Service Center. Community Conversations is a monthly program at the library.

MU student from Blan studies in France

Miami University student Nicole Niemeyer spent the summer 2015 semester in France as part of a study abroad group.

Niemeyer, from Blanchester is a junior majoring in Zoology.

With about 38 percent of Miami undergraduate students studying abroad for credit by the time they graduate, Miami is ranked second among public doctoral institutions nationwide for students studying abroad.

Utility Billing Office hours Thursday

The Wilmington Utility Billing Office will be closed from 2-3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10 so employees can attend a training session. Payments placed in the night drop box will be processed when the office re-opens at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
