MASON — Clinton-Massie’s Katie Hughes was the race runnerup Saturday at the Mason Invitational cross country meet.
Hughes ran a season-best 20:32 for the Lady Falcons.
“Katie ran a great race,” CM coach Dean Richardson said. “She looked very strong and continued to move up throughout the race. This race will give us a lot of confidence for the rest of the season.”
Teammate A.J. Houseman was 73rd in 24:25.
For the boys, Jacob Whitaker was 34th in 18:43, a personal best. Alex Hudson was 74th in 19:27, Zach Hammonds 80th in 19:31 (season best), Noah Brausch 133rd in 20:46 (PR), Logan Fisher 143rd in 21:23, Colin McDowell 153rd in 22:02 (PR), Brennen Swope 159th in 22:42 (PR), Jakob Meranda 162nd in 22:52 (PR), Talent Sagraves 164 in 23:04 (PR).
“I’m very proud of how we competed today.” Richardson said. “We had 13 personal or season best times. Our young runners are working hard and they are really improving.”
