ADAMS TOWNSHIP — In Wilmington’s 4-1 tennis win over Clinton-Massie in South Central Ohio League action Tuesday results were fairly cut and dry on the three singles courts.
But the doubles courts offered a pair of three-set thrillers.
Wilmington swept all three singles matches, with Allison Brooks improving to 18-1 on the year.
At first doubles, Clinton-Massie’s Claire Carruthers and Emma Bailey defeated Kalista Adkins and Veronica Ilg of WHS in a marathon 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 10-6.
At second doubles, Summer Payne and Sophie Reed were 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 winners over Jordan Bills and Hailey Clayborn of CM in a long match.
Massie is now 7-7 on the year. The Lady Falcons had their five-match win streak end with this defeat.
