WC women cruise to 5-0 win

Wilmington dominated Earlham in a battle of Quakers Wednesday on the Williams Stadium pitch.

The green and white Lady Quakers routed their Indiana counterpart 5-0 in a non-league match.

Brittany Ross faced just four shots, two on goal, and stopped both in recording the shutout in goal.

On the offensive side, five different Wilmington College women scored goals. WC had 40 shots, 23 on the Earlham goal.

Ashley Stockton started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 7th minute. Neither team scored until late in the first half when Taylor Leake scored her first goal of the season in the 41st minute to put Wilmington up 2-0.

In the second half, Wilmington tallied three goals in just more than 10 minutes of game time.

Stephanie Randolph scored unassisted in the 73 minute, finding the back of the net when the initial shot banged off the goalpost. Ashley Lovett made it 4-0 in the 80th minute with an assist to Alyssa Reule.

Randolph then assisted on the final WC goal in the 83rd minute when Kayla Marrero scored.
