BLANCHESTER — Logan Swinderman’s hat trick sparked the Blanchester boys soccer team to a 6-1 win over Norwood Tuesday in a non-league match at Barbour Memorial Field.

The Wildcats are now 6-1-2 and tied with Bethel-Tate for the lead in the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division standings.

The Wildcats led 2-0 at halftime on goals by Swinderman and Dade Coyle.

The visiting Indians made it 2-1 before Blanchester poured it on and ran away with the win.

Swinderman, then Dade Coyle from Sam Schafer and Nevan Coyle, and the Schafer all tallied goals for the Wildcats in the second half.

Swinderman, Daulton Stevens, Brendan Daugherty and Schafer also had assists for BHS.

Dakota Penquite, the Blan keeper, had 10 saves and “started many of the Wildcats’ attacks by driving punts into the Indians backfield,” Blan coach Troy Balllinger said.
