Roll out Wilmington’s Oktoberest

Get ready for a Wilmington-style polka party with the 16th Annual Wilmington Oktoberfest, set for 6-11 p.m. Friday and 3-11 p.m. Saturday.

The family-friendly celebration will feature traditional German polka as well as various other styles of music, a variety of authentic German or traditional festival foods, including domestic, German and craft beers. There will also be many games of chance plus Monte Carlo tournaments on Friday night, as well as an antique car cruise-in Saturday.

Admission is free for the event, held at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St., Wilmington, and hosted by Knights of Columbus #3369. Proceeds go to the Wilmington Schools Foundation.

Friday, Sept. 25 — Adult Monte Carlo Night

• 6-11 p.m.: Black Jack, Poker, Beat the Dealer, Big Six; Music, food and beer

Saturday, Sept. 26

• 8-9 a.m. — Registration for LHBS Oktoberfest 5k run/walk

• 3-3:30 — Opening ceremony/tapping of the keg

• 3:30 — First Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament

• 4-5 — Catholic Mass

• 4:30-8:30 — Gametruck Arcade

• 5-5:30 — Children’s Chicken Dance

• 5-7 — Clown-A-Mania

• 5-8 — German Music: The Zinzinnati Bier Band

• 5-9 — Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament

• 7:30-8 — Adult Chicken Dance

• 8-11 — Featured Band: Reeking Havoc

• 9 — Basket Raffle Drawing

• 11 — Festival ends
