Register now to make a difference

Who do you think is the best — or least best — candidate for your city’s or village’s council in the Nov. 3 general election?

Do you live in Sabina and are in favor of zoning? Or not?

What about Wilmington’s G1 Gateway Zoning ordinance?

Which municipal judge candidate do you think would be best on the bench?

Local residents have one shot this fall to make a difference in their local, elected leadership. One vote, especially in a local election, can and does make a difference, and Monday, Oct. 5 is the last day Clinton Countians can register to vote in the Nov. 3 general election.

The Clinton County Board of Elections, at the Clinton County Courthouse in Wilmington, will be open until 9 p.m. Monday to give you the opportunity to register. You don’t need to bring any documents to register to vote, but you’ll have to provide your Ohio driver’s license or Social Security number on registration forms.

And if you’re busy on Nov. 3, there’s still no excuse for not voting.

Early in-person and absentee voting then begins the following day — Tuesday, Oct. 6.

To vote in-person, a voter must go to the board of elections’ office during office hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early in-person voters must provide either their Ohio driver’s license number or their Social Security number on the in-person ballot application. Early voting ends Monday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.

For more information, see the board of elections’ website: www.electionsonthe.net/oh/clinton.

And to have your voice hard and make a difference, get out — or stay in — and vote.
