BHS freshmen blast Barons 42-6


The Blanchester freshman football team defeated Amelia 42-6 Saturday at Barbour Memorial Field on the Blanchester campus.

Brent Hopkins had four touchdowns and 178 yards rushing on 13 attempts. Tavor Mowry had two touchdowns, a two-point conversion and 79 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

Dustin Howard carried four times for 33 yards, but added a trio of two-point conversion runs. Ramiro Torres had 16 yards rushing.

Amelia did not score until the fourth quarter. In the first half, Blanchester had 11 players with at least one tackle, according to coach Bryan Howard.

Tyler Williams had an interception for BHS in the third period.

Blanchester led 24-0 at halftime.
