Blan JH football teams dump ’Dogs in 2 games

The Blanchester Junior High School football teams won two games with Batavia Wednesday.

The eighth grade Wildcats improved to 4-1-1 with a 46-8 win.

Nate Bates, starting his first game of the year at quarterback, had touchdown passes to Kaleb Goodin and Hunter Bare. Bates also had a two-point conversion run and a pair of two-point conversion passes to Gage Daniels.

The offensive line of Orin Potts, Mason Rector, Gabe Napier, Calob Manor, Briant St. John, Thomas Dugger and Payton West overpowered the Bulldogs defense to the tune of nearly 400 yards on the ground.

James Peters had 309 yards rushing, three touchdowns and two two-point conversions.

Kadin Berwanger had a rushing touchdown, six tackles and six pass break-ups. Bare added five tackles while Daniels had an interception.

In the seventh grade game, Blanchester cruised to a 34-0 win and is now 5-1 on the year.

Brody Rice and Blake Richard caught touchdown passes from QB Brayden Sipple, who also ran for a touchdown. Sipple had conversion passes to Trenton Czaika and Kyle Hopkins. Gabe Peters had a rushing touchdown.

Colt Conover had 52 yards rushing and a 30-yard interception for a touchdown. Gage Huston was the leading tackler with five. Brady Phillips had two sacks.
