The second annual Wilmington Chocolate Walk will be held on Friday, Oct. 16 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Hosted by Main Street Wilmington, this year’s walk will include 18 different locations serving unique and delectable chocolate creations.

“We are so excited to have 18 different downtown businesses and organizations participating this year! It gives us a chance to really highlight our wonderful downtown establishments while enjoying a stroll through our historic area,” said Rhonda Wheasler, Marketing Chairman of Main Street Wilmington.

This year’s walk will feature new popular chocolate items and hand-crafted favorites to try while you are on the walk, or to take home to savor later.

“We are also working to provide some horse-drawn transportation to help the walkers get to the outlying businesses,” said Wheasler. “We want to make sure everyone has a chance to meet all of our downtown business owners and try out the exquisite chocolates.”

The locations involved this year include: Alternatives to Violence Center, Beehive Custom Framing & Art, The Crave Candy, Everyday Chic Boutique, First Christian Church, For a Song & a Story, Get Fit, Hers & His Thrift Store, Main Street Yoga, The Mediterranean Restaurant, The Murphy Theatre, Rome Jewelers, The South Street Gallery, South Street Wine Cellar, Strength & Dignity Clothing, Wilmington United Methodist Church, Wilmington Public Library, and the United Way/Chamber of Commerce/Main Street Wilmington office.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Main Street Wilmington office at 100 W. Main Street Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., by calling 937-283-9265, or online at www.mainstreetwilmington.com. There is a limit of 300 tickets for sale for the event.

This is a family-friendly event, so bring the kids or make it a night out with your BFF and enjoy the chocolate.
