By a margin of just two points, the Wilmington High School girls cross country team finished second to Washington Thursday in the South Central Ohio League Girls Cross Country Championship meet at the 3.1-mile course on the Wilmington College campus.
Washington finished with 35 points while Wilmington came in with 37.
“The ladies did a heck of a job despite a few having slight illnesses,” said WHS head coach Eileen Grosse.
Individually, Clinton-Massie’s Katie Hughes ran third overall in 20:50.4.
Tristin Vail was the first Lady Hurricane runners to cross the line, placing sixth in 22:49.1.
Veronica Brewer ran 24:57.8 and was the first East Clinton runner to finish.
