GOSHEN — The Blanchester girls soccer team defeated Goshen 2-1 Thursday to close out the regular season.

The Ladycats finish 11-4-1.

“This Wildcat team has faced more obstacles and adversity than any other team I have coached and I am extremely proud of their toughness and next lady up mentality that has lead us through a successful regular season,” BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said.

Freshman Emily Hinkle scored both the BHS goals, rallying the Ladycats from a 1-0 deficit.

Maddie Gresham put the Lady Warriors on top with a first half goal.

But Hinkle scored in the 37th minute, off a cross from Tristan Culberson, to tie the match.

Audrey Jordan pushed her single season assist record to 17 when she set-up Hinkle on her second goal in the 67th minute, a rocket from 20 yards out that hit the top of the crossbar before ricocheting to the edge of the goal, Ballinger said.

Regan Ostermeier had 17 saves in goal for Blanchester. Brynne Cain, a BHS junior, played a physical game defensively in the second half to secure the win.
