Poised for trail construction

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday at the Sabina Park in connection with a multi-use trail that will stretch from Melvin Road east of Wilmington to Borum Road in Clinton County, via Sabina. For the most part, the 6.9-miles trail follows an abandoned railroad corridor. Among those pictured are Sabina Mayor Dean Hawk, Clinton County Park District member Bob Thobaben, Clinton County Trails Coalition President Bruce Saunders, Clinton County Park District members Bob Johnson and Kate Mahaffey, Clinton County Park District Clerk Lisa Hipke, Clinton County Engineer Jeff Linkous, Clinton County commissioners Kerry R. Steed and Mike Curry, project volunteer Laura Curliss, Clinton County Regional Planning Commission Executive Director Taylor Stuckert, Clinton County Health Commissioner Pamela Walker-Bauer, plus a representative from the Tri-county Triangle Trails Association. The project contractor is Foill Inc. of Waverly, Ohio.
