Clinton County communities will be celebrating America’s independence in a big way this weekend.

Wilmington’s annual Fourth of July celebration will be 6-10 p.m. Sunday, July 3 at J.W. Denver Williams Park.

The Life & Liberty Celebration, presented by Bible Baptist Church, gets underway Sunday with the Clinton County Community Band performing at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by a patriotic service by Bible Baptist Church. Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers will perform at 8 p.m.

Fireworks by Rozzi’s will begin at 10 p.m.

Admission is free. In the event of inclement weather, the 7 p.m. patriotic service and the 8 p.m. Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers concert will be moved to Bible Baptist Church.

As usual, Blanchester will celebrate the Fourth of July with a bang.

Red, White & Blanchester Blue 4th of July Festival runs for two days — Sunday, July 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Monday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. — at Broadway and Main in downtown Blanchester. The event is presented by the Blanchester Area Chamber of Commerce and admission is free.

The family-friendly event begins Sunday, and includes inflatables, vendors, continuous entertainment, karaoke, contests, dancing in the streets, antique car show and parade.

On Monday, July 4, the 5K run begins at 8 a.m. and the car show starts at 9 a.m.

The parade begins at 11 a.m.; this year’s theme honors the “50th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans.” The Blanchester High School Marching Band performs at 11:45 a.m. Rides open at noon, and that’s also when Quiet Storm will entertain.

Also on Monday, the county’s largest fireworks display is at 9:30 p.m. at the high school.

Also this weekend, the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors will perform a free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 3 at the Murphy Theatre, 50 W. Main St., Wilmington.

The Jazz Ambassadors is the official touring big band of the U.S. Army. From the big band sounds of the 1940s to the contemporary hits of today, and from patriotic to Dixieland, the members of the Jazz Ambassadors present a versatile musical program that has earned them international recognition and appeals to all ages.
