CHESTER TOWNSHIP — State Route 73 was closed for several hours at Oglesbee Road Monday morning due to a crash involving a semi-truck and a Honda sedan.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Kyle Hurles, at about 8 a.m. a FedEx semi-truck driven by Scotty Parks of Trenton was eastbound on State Route 73 when he lost control of the truck, went off the right side of the road, then over-corrected and went left of center before going off the left side of SR 73 just before Oglesbee Road, striking a utility pole.
Hurles said a westbound Honda sedan driven by Eddie Huang of Springboro took evasive action, going off the right side of the road and eventually striking a utility pole — a couple hundred feet away from where the truck came to a stop — just on the other side of Oglsebee.
He said Huang suffered non life-threatening injuries and was treated and released; Parks had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
The truck driver, Parks, was cited for failure to control, Hurles said.
The Chester Township Fire Department responded to the scene.
