CHILLICOTHE — Clinton County high school products Leda Moyer and Ana Hosler combined for the team’s fourth straight shutout as the Wilmington College women defeated Ohio Christian 2-0 Saturday.
“We played a lot of players today,” said Wilmington head coach Steve Spirk. “We were very good defensively, again.”
Spirk highlighted the play of sophomore Baylee Houck, freshman Amy Johnson, freshman Alex Vestal and freshman Haley Brausch off the bench.
Four minutes into the game, senior Alyssa Reule scored off a corner kick by senior Taylor Scott. Sophomore Taylor Leake added an insurance goal late in the game, scoring on a free kick at the upper 90.
Wilmington (5-1-2) travels to John Carroll 4 p.m. Saturday in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
