Lady ‘Cane nets 3-2 win over Lady Blue Lions

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE – The Wilmington High School tennis team edged Washington Senior 3-2 Monday in a South Central Ohio League match at Gardner Park.

Wilmington goes to 10-5 overall and 8-2 in the SCOL with the victory.

Veronica Ilg and Emma Schroeder played their first match together and defeated the 13-2 team of Sierra Dawson and Mack Cress at first doubles 6-4, 7-5.

“Veronica played one of her best matches of the season and came up big in important points,” WHS coach Doug Cooper said. “Sophie had one of her best matches as well, but once again ran up against an experienced seniors. Next year she will be the experienced player in tight matches.”
