Wilmington Police reports

WILMINGTON — The following report is generated from reports provided by the Wilmington Police Department. All those arrested are presumed innocent until possibly proven guilty in court. Incidents are presumed to be under investigation. Charges may be dropped or changed in court.

Wilmington police recently received the following reports:

• Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at 3:08 p.m. on Oct. 24. A semi-truck operated by a 38-year-old male was stopped to make a right turn onto South South Street. A vehicle driven by a 34-year-old female from Wilmington attempted to make a right turn as well. As both attempted to turn right they collided, with the female driver’s car getting pushed into the ditch. Her car obtained damage on the left side with the rear window being shattered. No injuries reported.

• At 10:20 a.m. on Oct. 24, police assisted the fire department in helping with a 26-year-old female who attempted suicide.

• At 11:03 a.m. on Oct. 24 police were dispatched to a theft complaint at a business in Wilmington. According to the report, a 20-foot Gator trailer valued at $10,000 was stolen.

• At 5:20 p.m. on Oct. 24 responded to a theft call at a store. Police arrived at the store and arrested David Gustin, 27, of Blanchester. According to the report, Gustin shoplifted an HP Notebook from Walmart and attempted to pawn it off.

• Police responded to an assault complaint at 9:53 a.m. on Oct. 25. According to the report, authorities arrived where Shyaine Payne, 23, of Leesburg claimed a 33-year-old male from Wilmington struck her. Authorities found no sign of assault. Payne was arrested after the officer discovered she has an outstanding warrant for a traffic violation.

• At 1:37 p.m. on Oct. 25, the station received a call from a 34-year-old Wilmington female stating that she wanted the department to tell a 36-year-old Wilmington male to be nice to her on the phone. According to the report, the responding officer told her that they could tell him to stop calling or texting him but not “be nice on the phone.” The victim said she did not want that, she just wants him to be nice on the phone. Two hours later, she called back requesting that he stop calling her. She advised that he hasn’t called her since she called authorities she wanted to put the request in. Officers attempted to call the male but were unable.

• At 2:03 p.m. on Oct. 25, police spoke with a 72-year-old Wilmington male about potential credit card fraud. According to the report, the male said he received a call saying someone tried to open a credit card with his info and that they wanted to confirm his info. Authorities advised him to call his credit card company directly and look into the phone number calling.

• At 4:03 p.m. on Oct. 25 police received a report from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital about an alleged child rape that occurred in Wilmington. There is no further information at this time.

• At 9:51 p.m. on Oct. 25, authorities received a call from a 29-year-old Piqua male who told them that he had been communicating with a 29-year-old male friend from Springboro who said he was going to kill himself and was going to Wilmington. The Piqua male told authorities that he was going to try and keep in communication with him to find out more information.

• At 7:59 a.m. on Oct. 26 a male told authorities that an unknown male attempted to take his backpack on his way to school. The suspect knocked the victim while he was on his way to school and as other students arrived in the area the suspect threw the bag down and ran. Damage was done to a school-owned Mac Book.

• Police were called to the 100 Block of Hale Street for a disturbance call at 10:09 p.m. on Oct. 26. Authorities made contact with a 28-year-old female resident who, according to the report, told the officer she was talking to God. The officer told her to talk quieter because God could still hear her. She said she would.

• At 1:46 a.m. on Oct. 27 as an officer was leaving the Municipal Building parking lot he saw a small brindled color dog walking on the sidewalk. According to the report, it was limping, stumbled and fell down a few times. It was discovered that the dog was underweight. It had a tag but it was bent and couldn’t read the number. The officer brought the dog into the office and gave it water and beef stew until the Dog Warden arrived.

• Police responded to a theft call at 3:31 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the 100 Block of Owens Avenue. According to the report a 2002 JD260 Skid Steer valued at $12,500 was stolen. Police have a suspect and are investigating.

• A 32-year-old female from Clarksville and a 40-year-old male from New Vienna have been charged with theft after authorities responded to a theft call at Walmart at 9:28 on Oct. 28. The suspects allegedly stole a 7” RCA Tablet valued at $49.87.

• Police received a theft complaint at 10:59 a.m. on Oct. 31. The 27-year-old male of the 100 Block of Reba Drive advised that his vehicle’s front license plate was stolen.

• At 12:50 p.m. on Oct. 31 police were called to Burger King and made contact with a 27-year-old male from New Vienna. According to the report, the subject was coming down from meth and his mother wanted to take him to a detox center. After some conversation, the subject agreed to go to the center.

• At 1:36 p.m. on Oct. 31 police were called to a business for a theft complaint. According to the report, trailers valued at $10,000 were stolen.

• At 3:48 p.m. on Oct. 31, authorities were dispatched to the 200 Block of Alumni Circle on a 38-year-old male residence overdosing on heroin. The subject was transported to the hospital.

• Kyle Wilson, 23, of Washington Court House for alleged theft and fraud on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

• Michael Riddle, 49, of Sabina for alleged kidnapping and two counts of alleged sexual battery on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

• Linwood Grace, Jr., 20, of Wilmington for alleged domestic violence and obstructing official business on Wednesday.

• Alex Grace, 18, of Wilmington for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia on Wednesday.

• Leon Curtis, 35, of Wilmington for allegedly driving under suspension on Wednesday.

• Ontario Jones, 48, of Columbus for allegedly driving under suspension on Wednesday.

• Gina Spurlock, 53, of Wilmington for alleged criminal trespassing on Wednesday

• John Baker, Jr., 53, of Wilmington for alleged theft on Thursday.

• Cody Gilbert, 22, of Wilmington for allegedly tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia on Thursday.

• Robert Graves, Jr., 45, of Sabina for alleged wrongful entrustment of a motor vehicle on Friday.

• Mike Parker III, 23, of Wilmington for allegedly driving under the influence on Friday.

• Sarah Stevenson, 36, of Wilmington for alleged receiving stolen credit cards on Friday.

• Jordan Rich, 26, of Waynesville for alleged failure to appear on charges of possession of drugs, possession of marijuana, O.V.I. suspension, and fictitious plates on Friday.

• Kyle Huston, 23, of Wilmington for alleged criminal trespass, theft, and possessing criminal tools on Saturday.

• Amanda Garen, 25, of Midland for alleged complicity on Sunday.

• Jazlyn Jones, 18, of Martinsville for alleged criminal damaging/endangering on Sunday.

• Adam Taylor, 33, of Wilmington for alleged domestic violence and obstructing official business on Sunday.

• Jason Brunk, 24, of Wilmington for allegedly driving under the suspension on Monday.

• Lyle Ruggles, 34, of Wilmington for alleged assault on Monday.

• Joseph Quigley, Jr., 34 of New Vienna for alleged theft by deception and criminal trespass on Monday.

• Stephen Doan, 29, of Cincinnati for alleged reckless driving on Monday.

• Timothy Turner, 20, of Wilmington for allegedly driving under suspension on Monday.
