BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team was defeated by Norwood 24-17 Wednesday in the season opener.

Madison Wells led the Ladycats with seven points and five rebounds.

Noelani Tangonan had three points while Caili Baumann, Casey Kingsland and Lana Roy scored two points each. Becca Kratzer rounded out the scoring with a free three. Baumann also had five rebounds.
