The Blanchester seventh grade girls basketball team outlasted Amelia 17-15 in overtime Monday for the first win of the season.

Gracie Irwin led the young Ladycats with six points while Maddie Creager added five. Emma Winemiller and Lacie Tedrick scored two points each.

Daelyn Staehling scored the only two points in overtime to give Blanchester the win.

Staehling also had nine rebounds to pace the Ladycats while Creager grabbed five. Taylor Combs and Rianna Mueller had two rebounds each while Irwin hauled in one.

Tedrick led Blanchester with two steals while Winemiller and Irwin had one each.

Blanchester will host Batavia Wednesday with the seventh grade game at 4:30 p.m. and the eighth grade to follow.
