WILMINGTON — Police are investigating the theft of a truck from a home in the 200 block of West Vine Street.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, stated that she was warming her car up so she could take her kids to their Mixed Martial Arts class when a white male jumped in and stole it.

“I had seen him walking around, so I kept my eye on him,” she said. “There’s an alley near my house and my guess is that he snuck around, went down that way, and came back.”

She stated that her young daughter spotted the man getting into the car and driving off down North Wood Street toward U.S. 68. The suspect was described as a tall white male, possible 6 feet, wearing a black jacket with the hood up and blue jeans. She stated that her neighbor caught a picture of the suspect. The victim stated she didn’t know him.

According to the police report, the vehicle is a 2004 silver aluminum Ford Explorer with Ohio license plate #FZM9053.

“That’s the only car I’ve got. It’s got all our car seats and everything,” said the mother of four. “I just want to get the word out there.”
