WILMINGTON — The East Clinton seventh grade boys basketball team was defeated by Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror 35-26.

Mitchell Bean led the young Astros with 11 points.

Cody Chaney added six points and Logan Swaney had four points. Jared Smith and Isaiah Curtis scored two points each. Landon Runyon rounded out the scoring with one free throw.

“We started out slow and turnovers cost us the game,” EC coach Brian Carey said. “The energy wasn’t there tonight. We will bring it to practice the next couple of days and it will show on the court against Hillsboro on Monday.”
