MIDDLETOWN — Led by Brayden Esposito, the East Clinton wrestling team finished seventh Saturday at the Mohawk Invitational at Madison High School.
Esposito went 5-0 with 2 pins in winning the 106-pound weight class.
“We started pretty well in the first two rounds and then started to struggle later in the day,” EC coach Doug Stehlin said. “We need to continue to work on our conditioning and be able to wrestle several matches in a day as the year goes on.”
Noah Morgan was 2-1 and runnerup at 170 pounds.
Austin Brock went 2-2 with a pair of pins, good enough for third place at 132 pounds. Christian Stone had two pins and was fourth at 220 pounds.
East Clinton will host Clermont Northeastern 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in a match being staged in front of the entire East Clinton student body.
