WAYNESVILLE — The East Clinton reserve girls basketball team finished as runnersup Wednesday in the Spartan Basketball Holiday Classic reserve tournament at Waynesville High School.

The Lady Astros, 2-7 on the year, were defeated by Greenon 45-37 in the championship game on Wednesday.

Rhylee Luttrell led EC with 15 points while Kaitlyn Talbott tossed in 14 points.

Makenzy Weiner had 3 rebounds for East Clinton. Miranda Beener finished with 7 points and Alexia Garen had 2 points.

East Clinton was 3 for 10 at the free throw line. Greenon had 10 players scorer and was 7 for 16 at the free throw line.

On Tuesday in the first round of the tournament, East Clinton, coached by Bill Bean, defeated Dayton Christian 39-22. The Lady Astros led 27-7 at halftime.

Talbott had 15 points while Luttrell and Beener scored 7 points each. Mersadees Gulley had 6 points and Garen scored 4.
