Hurricane rallies to beat Baron bowlers at Cherry Grove

CINCINNATI — Ryan Hottinger and Donavon Brown both had 444 series a Wilmington defeated Amelia Wednesday in a non-league bowling match at Cherry Grove Lanes.

Hottinger had games of 205 and 239 while Brown finished with 161 and 278.

Brown started his 278 with a couple of spares then threw 10 strikes to finish the game. In the baker games, Brown had five strikes in his first six frames for 15 consecutive strikes, WHS coach Josh Fisher said.

Wilmington finished with 2,448 while Amelia had 2,381. The Hurricane lost the first game 965 to 920 then went up by nine pins following a 991-937 win in the second game.

In the baker games, Wilmington had games of 186, 151 and 200 to close out the win.

Zack Zeckser had a 247 game and Tim Wright had a 226 game. Fisher said Clayton Jones and Zack Davis “came off the bench and threw some important shots” in the victory.
