The Rodger O. Borror seventh grade boys basketball team defeated Clinton-Massie 53-28 Monday to finish its regular season with a 14-2 record.

Though the South Central Ohio League does not officially recognize junior high sports champions, the young Hurricane posted a 12-2 record against league teams. No other team in the league had a better league record, coach Ken Platt said.

“The young men work hard all year,” Platt said. “They are an outstanding group on and off the basketball floor.”

Isaiah Rigling had 11 points, nine rebounds and five steals.

Colin Ames had eight points, grabbed 10 rebounds and came up with four steals. Andrew Stewart had seven points and seven rebounds. Brett Brooks scored seven points and hauled in 10 rebounds.

Kellen Baltazar had six points and Collin Barker scored five points. Jonathan Hairston, Alyke Lipincott, Avery Warix and Mekhi Scott had two points each. Jeffery Valentine rounded out the scoring with a free throw.
