Continental Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has a monthly birthday party to celebrate the residents having a birthday. February’s birthday party was extra special because a new King & Queen of Hearts was crowned. This year’s title of Queen went to Wilma Palmer, with King going to Larry Tedrick. Activity Director Lisa Beach said they gather all of the residents in the dining hall to await the grand entrance. Last year’s King, Howard Gooden, and Queen Barb Lowman, led the way as they entered the hall. Once inside the hall, Howard then handed over the scepter to the new King, Larry Tedrick, and Barb Lowman passed her scepter off to Wilma Palmer, the new Queen. Activity assistant Fritz Reed then crowned the new Queen and Lisa crowned the King. The residents enjoyed cake, ice cream and punch while enjoying the entertainment provided by Chris Branham music. Gifts were presented to the King and Queen, as well as all of the residents with birthdays in February.
