The Clinton County Solid Waste Management District recently awarded 2017 Community Grants to six political subdivisions to assist with the cleanup and removal of litter and other debris.
Each grantee will also be hosting events to allow residents to properly dispose of bulky and non-hazardous items not typically accepted through weekly, curbside waste collection services.
Residents interested in learning more about the dates and locations of the event in their area should contact their local representative. The grantees and their awards are:
• Adams Township Trustees, $656.25
• Clark Township Trustees, $338.62
• Jefferson Township Trustees, $637.50
• Village of Midland, $637.50
• Village of Port William, $701.25
• Village of Sabina, $637.50
The purpose of the Community Grant program is to provide local townships and municipalities with the necessary resources to implement recycling, litter prevention, and proper waste management practices in order to benefit the environment. Along with grant funds, recipients are required to provide matching dollars for each approved project.
