Sluggish start, big finish as Falcons flog Tigers 11-1

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Clinton-Massie exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning and defeated McClain 11-1 in South Central Ohio League action at Paul Schwamberger Field.

Clinton-Massie scored single runs in four of the first five innings to lead 4-1. But then the Falcons put together five hits and two walks in the sixth to score seven runs and break the game open.

“I thought we were a little sluggish early,” CM coach Brian Camp said.

Max Murray went the distance on the mound, striking out seven while walking two. He gave up four hits.

At the plate, David Poynter had two hits and drove in two runs. Aric France also had two hits, including a double in the seven-run sixth.

Clinton-Massie is 13-2 overall and 8-0 in the SCOL.
