WILMINGTON — When I grow up, I’m gonna be … a fireman, a doctor, a nurse, a teacher!
It’s an age-old statement that most every child has declared with great enthusiasm. After all, when you’re in kindergarten, the possibilities are limitless.
And because the possibilities are limitless, kindergarten students at East End Elementary School are wasting no time exploring their options.
After conducting a bit of research, students shared fun facts about their dream jobs that included information about where they would work, what they would wear, and what materials they would need to be successful in their field.
Students even took their research one step further by dressing for success and portraying the professional they want wanted to be when they grow up.
To provide students with even greater insight, East End Elementary School hosted its third Annual Career Fair where professionals throughout the Wilmington area met with students and shared information about a variety of careers.
Students heard, in part, from a letter carrier, librarian, wrestling coach, meteorologist, nurse, deputy sheriff, waste management employee, and dentist.
Many students hope to become teachers, architects, veterinarians, firefighters, librarians, deputy sheriffs, secret service agents, and nurses. Others dream of one day being the president, a “space man” and a rock star.
While it may be a few years before the class of 2029 begins to make its mark in the professional world, there is no doubt that they will be ready!
