L. Tony Nye, the Agriculture/Natural Resources Educator for Ohio State Extension in Clinton County, recently received honors at the 2017 National Association County Agricultural Agents convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He received the 2016 Distinguished Service Award, which is awarded by peers and Directors of Extension nationwide. This award is given to agents with more than 10 years of service in Cooperative Extension and have exhibited excellence in the field of Extension Education.

He was also recognized as the National Winner in Communication for a personal column. His articles written for Acreagelife Magazine, Weekend Farmer Column, won him this honor.

He also writes a weekly column which appears in the Wilmington News Journal each Saturday.

Now in his 30th year, Nye has built a specialty around swine, meat goats, and small farm topics statewide, nationally and internationally.

He is currently State Coordinator for Small Farm programs in Ohio. He is a past President of the Ohio Association of Extension Ag Professionals.
