CINCINNATI – The doubles pairing of Erin Wilson and Lilly Tedrick finished second Saturday in the G Flight first doubles bracket at the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches Association tournament at Winton Woods High School.
Tedrick and Wilson were defeated 6-4, 6-3 by Howard and Dollenmeyer of Hamilton High School.
“Lilly and Erin ran into Hamilton’s first and second singles players in the final,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “Both teasms played well. I think they were just a little steadier on the big points than we were and that was the difference.”
Alexis Vestal and Korie White were third in the second doubles bracket.
“Alexis and Korie did exactly what I expected they would do on day two, which is take care of business,” said Sexton. “They were frustrated with the loss Thursday, but they came out and played two very smart prosets to win the backdraw. They’ve been rock solid all year, so I’m not surprised to see them bounce back so well.”
The Ladycats have four straight days with matches this week, beginning with New Richmond today.
“We’ve got a big week ahead of us, but I think the girls are looking forward to it,” Sexton said. “We have to keep playing solid tennis, and use this weekend’s experience to help us through three league matches and a tough non-league match.”
