MIAMISBURG – The Clinton-Massie girls golf team had its season come to an end Wednesday at the Div. II Southwest District tournament at Pipestone Golf Course.

The Lady Falcons were ninth overall, improving upon their last place finish from a season ago by besting three teams.

Still it wasn’t enough to advance the team to the state tournament.

“It was an accomplishment for us to get back to districts again this year after graduating three seniors from last year’s sectional championship team,” CM coach Tim McGraw said.

The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the state tournament.

Individually, CM sophomore Gabby Woods was tied for 10th overall with a 92 (46-46). The final individual qualifier had an 82.

Sarah Willis of Eaton was the district medalist with a 69 (34-35).

TaylorKropp, a senior at CM, was next for Massie with a 97 (48-49). Freshmen Pearl Spurlock had a 116 (60-56) and Abby Schneider shot 129 (62-67). Mackynzi Vonderhaar, a sophomore, had a 133 (59-74).
