FAYETTEVILLE – Sc0ring three goals in each half, Fayetteville defeated Blanchester 6-3 Thursday in a non-league boys soccer match at FPHS.

Nevan Coyle had two goals and assisted on Colton Wilson’s goal for Blanchester.

Jacob Fischer had five saves in goal for the Wildcats.

Coach Troy Ballinger said the Rockets got off to an early lead and put BHS in a 3-0 halftime hole. Both teams scored three second half goal and while Ballinger said the Wildcats “had the momentum during the final moments” it was not enough for victory.

Blanchester will face Williamsburg Tuesday in the regular season finale.
