WILLIAMSBURG – In search of a win for nearly a month, Blanchester needed a get-well game. They got one at Williamsburg.

Blanchester scored on the first play of the game and then the next nine times it had the ball to win the battle of the Southern Buckeye Conference Wildcats 69-14.

BHS ran for 363 yards on just 33 attempts, with James Peters leading the way with 134 yards. Sipple finished a sharp 9 for 11 passing, good enough for 182 yards and four scores.

Blan (2-5, 1-1 in National Division play) had a pair of four-play, three-play and one-play scoring drives. There also were drives of five and six plays. The longest drive covered 90 yards in 10 plays. Williamsburg aided Blan’s last scoring drive by intercepting a pass on fourth down and then fumbling it back to Blan, and a fourth down offsides that gave Blan a first down.

Two Blanchester scores came after Williamsburg fumbles.

Williamsburg (1-6, 0-2) crossed midfield just three times. Once was because Blan’s onside kick attempt after going up 14-0 went just seven yards. Wyatt Lefker hit paydirt a play later. The second was on the first drive of the second half. That ended with another Lefker score. The third ended with the final horn.

The 55-point loss is the worst of the season for Williamsburg. It lost 57-7 to Hillsboro and 50-7 to Goshen.
