AUSTINTOWN – Wilmington College baseball senior Joshua Chua has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played March 11-18.

Chua finished the week with a .375 batting average to bolster the Fightin’ Quakers’ offense to an 8-3 record. He tallied 15 hits including five doubles, two triples and a home run. Chua drove in 14 runs, drew six walks and stole five bases on the week.

Chua’s best game came in Wilmington’s 29-5 offensive outburst victory over Lakeland College (Wisconsin). He threw out a runner attempting to score from center field in the first inning, and followed up his stellar defensive play with a 4-for-6 afternoon at the plate which included three doubles, three RBI and four runs scored.

Having a hit in all but two games, Chua also led Wilmington to a victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Pitt.-Bradford), hitting a two-run home run to complete a 2-for-4 day with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Wilmington (8-7), which is received its second OAC Player of the Week honor in the last six seasons, opens OAC play at Muskingum University Saturday.
