‘Celebrate Community’ during DD Month

0

Community integration is a big part of what the Clinton County Board of Developmental Disabilities strives to promote.

We support individuals in finding jobs or a niche within their communities — this gives them a sense of belonging and independence.

Frank Powell is just one of the individuals we serve who loves working in the community. He works at the Kroger in Wilmington and he just recently celebrated his one-year anniversary of employment.

Frank is not only happy about going to work, but he brings happiness to others as well. He feels a sense of belonging to his community and takes pride in his work.

Along with his job, Frank values his family, friends, and living within his community in an apartment setting.

He also volunteers his time by participating in the local Self-Advocacy program and the Aktion club, where he is able to share his experiences with others.

Frank Powell enjoys working at the Wilmington Kroger, and with the community.
