Blan to flush hydrants

The Blanchester Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants May 7 through May 11.

The water may turn colors during these dates. If water has color let faucet run till the water clears up.

Blan Library Friends book sale set

The Friends of the Blanchester Public Library will hold its spring book sale beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28.

The sale, held in the library’s meeting room, continues during library hours – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday – through May 5.

Sale items include magazines (25 cents) paperback books (50 cents), hardcover books and music CDs ($1), books on CD and videos ($2) and DVDs. Single DVDs cost $3, with multi-disc sets $5.

Anyone still wishing to donate items for the book sale may drop them off at the library.

The Friends of the Blanchester Public Library is a non-profit organization that helps support the library. Membership forms are available at the library. For more information, contact the library at 937-783-3585.

WC spring choral concert Sunday

Wilmington College’s Music Department is presenting its annual Spring Choral Concert Sunday, April 29 at 7:15 p.m. in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre.

While the College Chorale is the featured ensemble, the Quaker Thunder Pep Band will make its concert debut by opening the program performing favorite pieces from their successful premiere basketball season. Russ Zokaites directs the pep band.

The College Chorale, which is directed by Gina Beck and accompanied by James Wiederhold, will start its portion of the program at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Story Time set at libraries

“The Lemonade Stand!” is the theme for story times at Wilmington Public Library during the week of May 2.

Main Library

Wednesdays 10 a.m. — Babies & Toddlers (Birth-3 years)
