WILMINGTON – Six Wilmington errors led to eight unearned runs for Williamsburg in a 12-2 Wilmington loss Saturday in non-league softball action.
“We were missing a couple starters and that really hurt us both in the field and at the plate,” WHS coach Glen Blessing said.
Olivia Veidt had three hits for Wilmington while Kendra McKenna had two hits.
Veidt took the pitching loss. Her streak of innings pitched without a walk ended at 32.2 innings. As a team, the WHS walkless streak ended at 37.2 innings.
Williamsburg is the SBAAC National Division champion and defending Div. IV state champion.
