
Julio Madrigal, assisted by Logan Madrigal, take over the Clinton-Massie girls soccer program.
Julio has 15 years of coaching experience at all levels and has trained professional athletes. Logan has coached three years at the high school level. Hilliary Carr-Henderson also is listed as an assistant coach.
“We are very excited to see where the season takes us,” Julio said. “The girls have a lot of talent.”
Clinton-Massie was 5-10 last season and finished fifth of six teams in the SBAAC American Division standings. Pat Black was the previous varsity girls soccer coach at CMHS.
Mikhayla Carter graduated this spring and was the lone first team All-SBAAC player for the Lady Falcons in 2017. Kelsey Carter was a second team pick but also graduated.
Emily Ireland is a returning junior and earned second team honors in 2017. Lindsey Carter, also a junior, was given honorable mention by league coaches.
Other top returning players, according to the coaches, are Sadie Carruthers, Lauren Amberger and AJ Houseman.
Among the newcomers expected to contributed, Julio said Ashley Doyle, Amanda Wilson, Miranda Crawford, McKenzie Avery and Avery Cramner.
The coaches said they like the chemistry and leadership of the team and added Wilmington is one of the teams to beat for the Lady Falcons.
