BLANCHESTER – A Blanchester rally fell short Thursday in a 2-1 loss to Goshen in non-league boys soccer action at Barbour Memorial Field.

Goshen led 2-0 until late in the match. Colton Wilson set up Carter Stevens for a Blanchester goal to make it 2-1.

Moreover, the goal sparked the Wildcats on offense, coach Troy Ballinger said. The game ended with BHS still attacking hard but coming up short, the coach added.

Ballinger said his squad’s young back line and goalkeeper Gavin Colebank kept them in the game with solid play. Colebank had 19 saves, including one on a PK.
