WILMINGTON – Otterbein University, which sits atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings, scored four second-half goals in a 4-0 victory over the Wilmington College women’s soccer team at Townsend Field Thursday.
Wilmington (2-2-2) will head to Baldwin Wallace University 7 p.m. Monday, a game time changed because of the Easter holiday.
The Cardinals held a 28-7 edge in shots including a 14-5 disparity in shots on goal. Lauren Galloway took the loss despite making 10 saves.
The match was tied 0-0 at halftime, Wilmington failing on its best scoring chance in the 18th minute of the opening stanza. The Cardinal back line misplayed a cross, and it found the feet of Taylor Huffman on the near sideline. Huffman settled and fired a shot near post, but Gordon made the save.
Wilmington did not seriously threaten the Otterbein net in the second half.
